Battle of Verdun was a war that began on February 21 and continued till December 18, 1916. The Battle Of Verdun is one of the most havoc wars of history. It was a war full of bloodshed. Germans named Verdun to be a war of attrition.

The Battle Of Verdun was a part of the World War I battles. It is one of the bloodiest battles of history, which recorded approximately 350,000 casualties. The objectives of the war were quite different fro what happened in the war. It was a drastic shift from what was wanted, which means it turned the battlefield into the bloodstream. Many historians termed the city of Verdun as a “meat grinder,” which took many lives. Even before the war, they foresaw that it would take many lives, and there will be an abundance of casualties of the French army, but still, there were hardly any hands that walked towards the path of peace. Everyone eventually wanted bloodshed, which happens ruthlessly.

Verdun selected as a target by the Germans long before the war. The city of Verdun was taken as a target because of its political history. It all started during the Franco-Prussian War has Verdun defeated France badly, so it was an act of revenge that was taken. It is on the borders of Germany. 

During the Battle of Verdun, there was a lot of preparation for the army. Proper training with equipment of the arm was undertaken to prepare them for the war. The movements of men and machines were seen to check the discrepancies. During the preparation of the war, there were many new railway lines, which were on the path of construction. All this was done to carry the massive concrete bunkers and for stockpiling artillery pieces and 2.5 million shells. There was an enormous preparation for the war.
