The Great War - The Battle To Be Remembered Forever

Armed combat between different countries or the various states of a country is a war. War leads to a massive loss of people and properties. A war has been the prime destructive source in the past. War is not the story of a day. It involves the story of several days, months, or even years. The Great War is also known as World War I or the First World War. The origin of wars came even before the war. During the reign of kings and rulers, the war was even more prevalent. There was the commencement of wars for every problem between the countries.

The Great War

During the king reigns, they declared battle even without reasons. When the country of one king wanted to rule more than one country, he declared war to win over the country. Though there were wars in the past reigns, this battle was massive. It made a mark in the history of the world. Nor the wars during the king’s reign nor any other wars which took place after World War I were comparable to it. We all know even a small cause can bring out colossal destruction. Also, it is what happened in World War I. It all started on June 28 of 1914, when there was Austro-Hungarian rule in Europe.

During that time, the nationalists in the country were putting considerable effort into ending the Austro-Hungarian government. It all started on the 28 of June in 1914, when Gavrilo Princip, a Serbian nationalist assassinated the heir. He was Archduke Franz Ferdinand was a nationalist. He tried to end the Austro-Hungarian rule. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand became one of the major causes. This assassination followed a chain of events that took place in the later month. It was the July crisis.

July Crisis And Further Events

During the July crisis, many interrelated conflicts with the assassination took place, and that was also a cause. After the issue of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the government of the Austro-Hungarian came up with an ultimatum to Serbia. Serbia sent them with a reply. The reason they provided was not satisfying enough for the Austro-Hungarians, and hence they declared war.

It initially started in Europe and we know it as the European war. But later, the countries stared, forming alliances with other countries seeking their support. And then it grew out to a global level. Austria-Hungary sought the help of Germany, which was among the strong and powerful countries, while Serbia was seeking the advice of Russia followed by, Belgium, France, and Great Britain, which were also among the most influential countries.
